Ingredients

24 servings
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 4 tsp any Superboba tea powderSuperboba
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Steps

  1. Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.

  2. Beat in the tea powder until the dough is evenly coloured.

  3. Mix in the flour and salt until a dough just comes together. Stop there.

  4. Roll to 5 mm thick, cut, and chill the cut shapes 15 minutes.

  5. Bake at 175 C for 10 to 12 minutes, until the bottoms are just golden.

Good to know

  • Chilling after cutting is what keeps the edges sharp instead of spreading.
  • Do not overwork the dough once the flour is in, or the shortbread goes tough rather than short.
  • Dough logs freeze two months. Slice and bake from frozen, adding two minutes.
