Ingredients
For the pearls
- 1 serving Super PearlsSuperboba
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 tbsp warm water
For the tea
- 2 tsp Classic powderSuperboba
- 100 ml hot water, about 85 C
- 200 ml milk of choice
- Ice, to fill
Steps
Stir the brown sugar into the warm water until dissolved. That is your syrup.
Scoop a serving of Super Pearls into a bowl.
Pour the syrup down the side of the bowl until the pearls are submerged.
Soak 1 to 5 minutes. Do not boil them and do not simmer them. They are ready when they are soft and chewy.
Whisk the Classic powder into the hot water until smooth and foamy.
Tip the pearls and their syrup into a tall glass, add ice, then the milk, then the tea. Stir.
Good to know
- Super Pearls are instant. Boiling or simmering them ruins the texture. A conventional tapioca pearl needs 30 minutes at a boil, 15 simmering and a 35-minute rest, which is the entire reason most people never make boba at home.
- They are unsweetened on purpose, so the syrup is where you control sweetness. Start with 2 tbsp of sugar and adjust.
- Soak them last. Pearls are best within an hour of soaking and go firm in the fridge.
